Privacy
We are an agency. We put you in touch with the operator who owns the boat, and then we get out of the way. That shapes everything below: we never take your money, so we hold no card details, and we never handle your crew list, so we hold no passports.
What we hold, and only when you send an enquiry
Browsing this site gives us nothing about you. There is no tracking script, no advertising pixel and no cookie we set. If you never send an enquiry, we never have a record of you.
When you do send one, the form asks for:
- Your name and email address. Required — there is no way to answer you without them.
- Your phone number and country. Optional. The operator asks for a country because their charter paperwork needs one.
- Whatever you write in the message box. Optional, and it reaches a person.
We also store the quote you were shown — the boat, the dates, the all-in total, its itemised breakdown, and the exact wording of the terms on screen when you pressed send. That is so a disagreement about what you were quoted can be settled by looking, rather than by whoever remembers it better.
Sending an enquiry opens a conversation between you and one of our people, and we keep what both of you write in it. You reach it through a link we email you. That link is the only key to it — there is no password and no account — so anyone you forward it to can read the whole conversation. We never post it anywhere, and we would rather you did not either.
What we do not hold
No card or bank details: you pay the operator directly and your money never passes through us. No passport, licence or crew list: those go to the operator’s own booking system, not to ours. No advertising profile, and nothing bought from a data broker.
Why we are allowed to hold it
For the enquiry itself, because you asked us to answer it and ticked the box saying so. That is consent, and you can withdraw it.
For the marketing emails, a separate tick — never bundled with the first one, because a single box covering both is not a real choice. Every one of those emails has an unsubscribe link that works on the first click.
After the enquiry is closed we keep the row itself — the boat, the dates, the price, with your name and address removed — because knowing how many people asked about which boats is how we decide which operators to work with. That is our legitimate interest, and it does not need to know who you are.
How long we keep it
Two years from the day you sent it. After that, a nightly job overwrites the name, email, phone, country and message on the enquiry, empties every message in the conversation — both sides of it, not just yours — and switches off the link. It is not a promise to delete on request one day: it runs on its own, every night, whether or not anybody asks.
Two years because a charter is planned six to twelve months ahead and people come back the following season. A shorter window would throw away a conversation that is still live; a longer one would keep a name we have no remaining reason to hold.
Anything our spam filter catches is cleared after thirty days instead. There is no enquiry to answer, so there is nothing to keep.
Who else sees it
The operator of the boat you asked about, when we pass your enquiry on — that is the point of sending it. They are a separate company with their own privacy policy.
Booking Manager (MMK Systems), whose software the operators run and which we read prices and availability from.
Our email provider and our hosting, which cannot work without handling the message on the way through.
Nobody else. We do not sell anything to anyone.
What you can ask us for
A copy of what we hold on you, a correction, deletion, or a copy in a form you can take elsewhere. You can withdraw either consent at any time, and withdrawing it does not make anything we did beforehand unlawful.
Email privacy@justboat.example and quote your enquiry reference if you have it — it looks like JB-4F7K2AB1 and it is the fastest way for us to find you. We answer within one month.
If you think we have got this wrong, you can complain to your national data protection authority. In Croatia that is AZOP.
Cookies
We set none. The site remembers your currency in your own browser’s storage, which never leaves your device and never reaches us — which is also why there is no cookie banner in your way.
Changes
If this page changes in a way that affects an enquiry already sent, we email the people it affects rather than quietly editing the page. The terms shown to you at the time are stored with your enquiry either way.
Questions that are not about privacy belong on the boat you are looking at — every page has a way to ask. Or start from where you can charter.
